Companies Department

The Companies Department is headed by the Registrar of Companies who is responsible for the administration of the Companies Registry under the Companies Act 2013 and the Single Window Business Registry Act (2013). The Act also imposes an obligation on the Registrar to monitor and enforce compliance with its provisions by operators of companies. The Registrar of Companies is also the custodian of all records and instruments relating to the operations of companies in The Gambia. As the custodian of these records, the Registrar has a statutory obligation to ensure, the efficient management of; the maintenance of the security and integrity of; and ease of access in a timely manner; of these records. The Registrar of Companies has a statutory obligation to ensure the effective and efficient management of the Companies Registry. The Registrar of Companies is assisted by a Deputy Registrar, an Assistant Registrar and Inspectors.
